Sunday Shield Final beckoning for clubs
SIX more sides will be looking forward to a Suffolk FA county cup final by Sunday lunchtime.
Besides Friday night’s two CNet Training Suffolk Senior Cup Semi-Finals (see separate previews), the delayed Suffolk Sunday Shield last-four ties are taking place this weekend.
The two matches were postponed four weeks ago due to waterlogged pitches.
Elmsett United, who play in Division Two of the Ipswich Sunday Football League, face Lowestoft side Fusilier, who play in Division One of the Great Yarmouth Sunday League.
The tie is taking place at Badingham Road, home of Framlingham Town FC.
The other semi-finals sees two ISFL sides come face-to-face at Ipswich Wanderers’ Humber Doucy Lane ground.
Division One side Holbrook Swan meet Walton Wanderers, who play in Division Two.
The winners of the two Suffolk Sunday Shield semi-finals will meet in the final, which will be part of Super Sunday at Needham Market FC on Sunday, April 28th.
The final will take place on the same day as the Suffolk Sunday Cup, Suffolk Sunday Trophy and Suffolk Veterans’ Cup Finals.
Action is pictured above from last season’s Suffolk Sunday Shield Final at AFC Sudbury between Ipswich Thistle (lime green shirts) and Raydon Ravens (purple shirts) which Ipswich Thistle won 3-2.
