Seasiders ease into second round of cup
FELIXSTOWE & Walton United eased into the second round of this season’s Suffolk Premier Cup
The Seasiders demolished lower-league Long Melford 8-1 in Wednesday’s first-round tie at Stoneylands.
The result was never in doubt after the visitors raced into a two-goal lead inside the opening ten minutes courtesy of Sam Ford.
The striker completed his hat-trick on the stroke of half-time and Jack Ainsley, who was a Premier Cup winner with Leiston last season, made it 4-0 after 5-2 minutes.
Ainsley added two more in quick succession after 72 and 74 minutes to complete his hat-trick, before Will Wingfield pulled one back from the penalty spot five minutes later following a foul.

It was a tough evening for Long Melford, who play a league lower than Felixstowe & Walton United in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division and had lost 6-0 at home to Woodbridge Town on Saturday.
In Wednesday evening's other county cup tie Haverhill Rovers won 5-2 at Leiston in the Suffolk Boys' Under-18 Midweek Cup.
