Déjà vu surrounds county cup ties

THERE’S a sense of Déjà vu concerning this weekend’s Suffolk FA county cup fixtures.

THERE’S a sense of Déjà vu concerning this weekend’s Suffolk FA county cup fixtures.

Of the six scheduled adult semi-finals, five are re-arranged matches.

There’s one last-four fixture in both the Suffolk Sunday Cup and the Anglian Radio Kids’ Trust Suffolk Sunday Shield.

Bungay Town and Mellis will be hoping it is a case of third time lucky as they prepare to go head-to-head at Woodbridge Town FC in the semi-final of the Sunday Cup following two postponements.

Long Melford FC, meanwhile, are hoping to welcome the players of Ipswich Thistle and Moreton Hall Youth Ferals for their Sunday Shield tie.

Bury Town, who only booked their semi-final spot last weekend, face AFC Hoxne at Walsham-le-Willows FC in the Vitavia Suffolk Veterans’ Cup for a fourth season running.

And aiming to meet them in the final for a fourth year in a row will be Woodbridge Town, who will have to overcome Barham Athletic at Bourne Vale Sports & Social Club if they are to do so.

Sunday also sees 19 matches taking place from 10am at the Crown Imperial Suffolk FA Youth Cup Semi-Finals Day at Kesgrave High School hosted by Kesgrave Kestrels.

Meanwhile, AFC Sudbury have booked their place in the final of this season’s Suffolk Boys’ Under-18 Midweek Cup following a 3-1 victory over Kirkley & Pakefield at Woodbridge Town FC on Wednesday.
