Boys' trials to be held next month

SUFFOLK County Schools’ FA boys’ team representative trials for next season will take place in July.

SUFFOLK County Schools’ FA (SCSFA) boys’ team representative trials for next season will take place prior to the summer holidays.

Trials will be held for next season’s Under-14 & Under-16 boys’ teams.

The only requirement to represent Suffolk Schools next season is that you must attend a Suffolk school.

Dates of the trials are as follows:

Saturday, July 7th 2018 - 10am until 12 noon at Skyliner Sports Centre, Sybil Andrews Academy, Rougham Tower Avenue, Bury St Edmunds IP32 7QB

Saturday, July 14th 2018 - 10am until 12 noon at Ipswich Academy, Braziers Wood Road, Ipswich IP3 0S

Outgoing SCSFA Secretary James Morley said: “There will not be a formal Lowestoft Trial this year, because we are working closely with the North Suffolk Sports Academy to send the best players from North Suffolk to the final trial.

“The final trial date and venue will be announced to those who are successful at the regional trial.

“There isn’t going to be an Under-15 trial for next season at these sessions; the reason for this is a settled squad who finished last season and really improved as a squad over the season.

“However, this doesn’t mean that the team is closed to new players. The coaching staff want to try something different over a one-off trial, therefore if you are a player who thinks they are good enough there is the opportunity to trial over the summer with the team.

“If this is the case, we would ask you to contact SCSFA Secretary Ruth Ward with a reference from your teacher to outline your attributes and why you think you should trial.

“If the coaching staff would like to give you a trial, then Ruth will be in contact to invite you.

“We are looking forward to another great season and the work starts at these trials to give each team the opportunity to work on their teams over the summer.”

If you have any questions, please contact SCSFA Secretary Ruth Ward for more information.
