Bungay one win from Senior Cup final
BUNGAY Town are just one win away from their first appearance in a Suffolk Senior Cup Final for 55 years.
The club have not played in a Senior Cup Final since they lost 3-0 to Whitton United in the 1962-63 season.
The current day Bungay side defeated Lakenheath 4-2 on Saturday to reach the semi-finals of this season’s CNet Training Suffolk Senior Cup.
The Hadley & Ottaway Anglian Combination Division One outfit led 3-1 at the interval, and although their hosts pulled one back early in the second period, Bungay scored again to secure their place in the last four.
The home team were reduced to ten men in the second half and had a second player sent off after the final whistle to compound their misery.

It was a good day for the Anglian Combination League as Division Two side Brandon Town beat Stanton 4-2 on penalties following a 2-2 draw to seal their semi-final spot in the Suffolk Junior Cup.
Brandon will now face another Touchline SIL Division One side in AFC Kesgrave in the last four.
Felixstowe & Walton United, Haverhill Rovers and Stowmarket Town all progressed to the semi-finals of the Days Sports Suffolk Senior Reserve Cup.
Stowmarket, the holders, needed a last-gasp penalty to knock-out Leiston St Margarets 3-2. Whitton United and Mildenhall Town meet on Saturday to decide the last semi-final spot.
The semi-final draw will be announced on Tuesday.
Both last season’s finalists have made it through to the final four of this season’s Suffolk Primary Cup on a day when the four quarter-final ties yielded 23 goals.
Holders Bures United enjoyed a comfortable passage, courtesy of a 5-1 win at Cedars Park, but the highest scorers of the day were St Edmunds 1965, who were 8-2 winners at home to Bedricks Worth.
AFC Yourshirts, runners-up last season, eased past Brantham Athletic Reserves 3-0, while Trimley Sports & Social Club won 5-4 on penalties following a 2-2 draw at Barham Athletic Reserves.
The semi-final draw will take place on Wednesday.
Moreton Hall Youth Ferals completed the semi-final line-up in the Anglian Radio Kids’ Trust Suffolk Sunday Shield courtesy of a 3-0 win at Greshams. They will now face Ipswich Thistle.
