Gym United handed home draw in cup
GYM United, who reached the final of the national FA Sunday Cup last season, have been drawn at home in the first round of this season’s Suffolk Sunday Cup.
The Bury St Edmunds-based side, who lost 2-0 after extra time in the final to holders Hardwick Social at Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane ground, will entertain Barrow in one of three first-round ties.
Gym United, who won the Suffolk Sunday Cup in both 2014 and 2015, lost 4-3 on penalties in last season’s semi-final to eventual winners Kitchener Taverners following a 2-2 draw.
