Multiple March Events For Coaches Academy

The Suffolk FA Coaches Academy have attended three different events in March to support their Development.

Sponsored by Halliday Lighting, the Coaches Academy attended a Match Analysis session at the AFC Sudbury vs. Folkestone Invicta fixture, an academy visit at Colchester United FC and a development evening at Ipswich Town FC with their Academy Foundation Phase.

Suffolk FA Senior Football Development Officer Michael Cornall, who leads the programme, said “In the last month the Suffolk FA Coaches Academy have been able to attend a multitude of events.”

“From Match Analysis at Ryman Premier Level, to viewing an U9 session within the professional game, the sessions have been able to give a variety of development opportunities for the coaches.”

“The Coaches Academy strives to give numerous chances for the coach undergraduates to enhance their coaching and this month has definitely played testament to this objective.”

The Match Analysis session, was led by FA County Coach Developer and AFC Sudbury First Team Manager Jamie Godbold who took the coaches through match-day considerations and how analysis plays a pivotal role in team preparation.

In addition, the Coaches Academy also visited Colchester United and Ipswich Town Academy programmes to look at the club philosophy, syllabus and training structure.

At the evenings, the coaches were able to view multiple sessions across the Foundation Phase to gain an insight into the environment within these age groups at professional clubs.

Michael said, “Duncan at Ipswich and Jon at Colchester were fantastic hosts and the coaches were able to gain a detailed insight into coaching within the elite game.”

“I would like to thank both clubs for their brilliant hospitality.”

As well as this, the Suffolk Coaches Academy has also received national recognition from Sports Coach UK and a blog on the programme can be viewed by clicking here.
