VICTORY in the Suffolk Senior Reserve Cup Final would secure a remarkable treble for Stowmarket Town Under-23s.

Stowmarket Town Under-23s meet Beccles Town Reserves in the final at the Watson & Hillhouse Victory Road Stadium home of Leiston FC, in Friday night’s final, kick-off 7.45pm.

It will be a fourth final in five seasons for Beccles Town Reserves, who have lost on all three previous occasions, while Stowmarket Town U23s have finished runners-up three times in the past six seasons.

Stowmarket Town U23s manager Craig ‘Jimmy’ Brown said: “Yes, we're keen to set that record straight. In the previous two finals, we played quite well but just didn't take our chances.

“This time around, our aim is to seize those opportunities and bring the trophy back home with us.”

Brown said it would be a ‘fantastic accomplishment’ if they can achieve the treble.

“I'm extremely proud of this young team's performance this season. We always give this competition our utmost attention, and I'm thrilled that we've reached the final once again,” he said.

“We were crowned the Thurlow Nunn U23s champions, and we also clinched the league cup. Achieving both the league and cup double, and potentially securing a treble-winning season with such a young group, would indeed be a fantastic accomplishment.”

But Brown knows his team won’t have it all their own way against their Fosters Solicitors Anglian Combination Division Two opponents who also have a score to settle.

“All I know is that Beccles has performed exceptionally well in previous seasons, and I congratulate them on reaching the final again.

“It's going to be a challenging match. We've prepared ourselves to face an experienced side, and having lost previous finals in this competition, we're determined to set things right this time. It's shaping up to be a thrilling encounter, as both teams have scores to settle,” he added.
