Suffolk FA welcomed FA Senior Youth Coach Educator Ben Bartlett (pictured above in the foreground) to the county to deliver a two-hour event for the Suffolk Coaching Network.

Titled ‘Developing a winning mentality’ the evening looked at different methods and techniques to create a competitive environment for your players whilst ensuring development remains the core focus throughout the session.

Hosted at Ipswich Town FC Training Ground, the coaches were treated to observing the U16 Academy side whilst Ben took them through the focus for the evening.

Ben, who has had previous roles at Chelsea and Colchester United, then paired players up with coaches to discuss the information that has passed on to them and their objectives for the session.

The evening was rounded off with some reflection and a debrief to discuss the key learning points for the evening.

Suffolk FA Senior Football Development Officer Michael Cornall said: “It was fantastic to see such a significant number of coaches commit themselves to coach development for the evening.

“It was a real coup for us to have Ben deliver an event for Suffolk FA and I know this was very well received by the coaches who attended.

“At Suffolk FA we strive to create a great football experience and I would like to thank Ipswich Town FC for being so accommodating and having a key contribution towards this.”

Across the season, Suffolk FA host a number of events for the Suffolk FA Licensed Coaches Club as well as a Suffolk FA Coaches Academy which offers a bespoke development programme for a select number of coaches.
