As Suffolk FA moves into the second year of its Development Strategy, the 2016-17 season sees the continuation of the Suffolk Coaching Network.

A key strand for Suffolk FA, with a desire to support, develop and enhance coaching within Suffolk, the SCN provides a variety of opportunities, events and initiatives for coaches within the county.

A number of projects within this strand are readily available to the Suffolk Football Community.


Suffolk FA Licensed Coaches Club CPD Events

Each season Suffolk FA will offer a number of continuous professional development events and evenings designed to support your coaching.

These will be FREE events for members of the Licensed Coaches Club, geographically spread across the county.

The evenings will have a specific theme and focus on a particular coaching topic. The evenings will be led by FA national staff and various guest speakers.

Any FA Qualified Coach can join the FA Licensed Coaches Club for FREE. Click here to join.


Charter Standard club CPD programme

Led by FA County Coach Developer Jamie Godbold, Suffolk FA Charter Standard Clubs are able to access FREE FA Licensed Coaches Club CPD event hosted at their club facility.

A number of topics are available and all are linked in with the Emerging England DNA. This unique opportunity is limited and on a first come, first served basis. In order to access the programme clubs will need to provide the following.

 -          Venue

-          A minimum of six coaches

-          An age-appropriate team (minimum of 10 players)

Suffolk Coaching Network Twitter Page - @coachingSFA

In order to liaise regularly and update the Suffolk Football Community on various events, the Suffolk Coaching Network has its own dedicated twitter page.

This will act as a forum and a network for coaches to discuss, connect and explore coaching. For more information visit @coachingSFA


Suffolk FA Coaches Academy

The 2016/17 season will see the Suffolk FA Coaches Academy moves into its second season. 

Specifically for an exclusive number of coaches within the county of Suffolk, the Academy will offer a number of bespoke CPD, coaching support and a variety of benefits for the coach undergraduates.

This is a recognised programme within the Suffolk Football Community and is nationally unique.

From 2015-2019, 80 coaches will be part of a two-year programme designed to support and develop the very best coaches within Suffolk.

FA Coach Mentor Programme
A programme designed to support coaching within FA Charter Standard Community Clubs, each season will see a number of FA Coach Mentors working closely with clubs in Suffolk.

Over the course of the season, the Mentors will provide 100 FREE hours for each individual club. This will provide support on coaching, player development and implementing the England DNA into the grassroots game.

FA Skills Programme
The FA Skills programme is designed specifically to support coaching and player development within the 5-11 age brackets.

A FREE initiative, the Skills coaches offer expert support for Charter Standard clubs, schools and individual players through  FA Skills Centres.

Based across the county, the FA Skills team provides CPD events, club focus work and mentoring for Suffolk FA Charter Standard Clubs.
