How did you become involved in football and when?
I played from an early age with “coats as goalposts” through school into adult football, mostly in the SIL Senior Division and the Sunday Morning League, until at the age of 40 osteoarthritis of the knee finished my playing career.

What is your memorable achievement in football to date?
As a manager I took Cranes Sports to three successive Suffolk Senior Cup Finals in the eighties winning two and losing one. In 1989 I was joint manager of a Sudbury Town team which won the Eastern Counties League, the Eastern Counties League Cup and the Suffolk Premier Cup and most memorably reached the FA Vase Final, played against Tamworth at Wembley, drawing that match and unfortunately losing the replay at Peterborough.

What is your role within Suffolk FA?
I am currently Chief Executive Officer having started as County Secretary in 2002

What is the biggest challenge within your role?
Ensuring that the county keeps moving forward in all areas of its activities with particular emphasis on achieving Suffolk’s “Goals” and “Enablers” as described within the FA National Game Strategy\Suffolk Football Plan
