Five more cup final places up for grabs

FIVE more teams will have booked themselves a county cup final place by Sunday evening.

The action starts on Thursday evening with the first of the Portable Space Suffolk Senior Reserve Cup Semi-Finals as Brantham Athletic U23s face Hadleigh United U23s at AFC Sudbury.

The Brettsiders sit top of the Thurlow Nunn League Division One South, recording 13 wins, two draws and just one defeat in their 16 league games.

The Blue Imps, meanwhile, are sixth in the standings, with seven wins, four draws and three defeats in 14 outings so far.

The second semi-final on Friday evening sees Haverhill Rovers U23s take on Framlingham Town U23s at Walsham-le-Willows FC.

Rovers are third in Thurlow Nunn League Division One South, after winning eight, drawing three and losing six of their 17 fixtures to date.

The Castlemen top Division One North thanks to 11 wins, one draw and two losses among their completed matches thus far.

The first of this season’s MH Goals Suffolk Women’s Cup Semi-Finals is also scheduled for Friday evening as holders AFC Sudbury go up against old rivals Needham Market at Hadleigh United FC.

The other semi-final is at Stowmarket Town FC on Sunday afternoon as Bungay Town, the 2022-23 losing finalists, face Sudbury Sports.

There’s also one semi-final match on Sunday morning, this time in the Best Badges Suffolk Sunday Shield.

Ipswich side Taverners host Bury Bowl at Bourne Vale Sports & Social Club for a place in the final at ‘Suffolk Super Sunday’ on April 27th when four finals will be held on one day at Needham Market FC.

Taverners occupy third place in Division One of the Ipswich Sunday Football League, winning nine, drawing four and losing three of their 16 games so far this season.

Their visitors are fourth in Division Two of the Premier Logos Bury & District Sunday League, after nine wins, two draw and two defeats in 13 matches.
