EIGHT Sunday sides will this weekend be battling for a county cup final place.

In addition to the two CNet Training Suffolk Senior Cup Finals, four adult Sunday cup semi-finals are taking place.

Three of the four sides in the Best Badges Suffolk Sunday Cup are from the Premier Logos Bury & District Sunday League, with one of them therefore guaranteed a place in the final.

Godolphin host Moreton Hall Youth Ferals, last season’s runners-up, in the all-BDSL tie, with Bedfield aiming to make it an all-West Suffolk final. However, in order to do so they will have to knock-out holders Kitchener Taverners.

There’s another East versus West tie in one of the two Best Badges Suffolk Sunday Trophy Semi-Finals.

Northam Celtic may be languishing at the foot of Division Two of the Ipswich Sunday Football League, but they have made it through to the final four of this competition.

They host BDSL Division Three side Stradbroke United, while another all-West Suffolk tie sees Stanton, who are second in Division Four, entertain Barton Mills, second in Division Three.

Barton Mills have the added incentive of wanting to make their 4-0 loss in last season’s final to Ipswich side Gardeners Arms a distant memory by winning this season’s edition.

The semi-finals of the Best Badges Suffolk Sunday Shield are scheduled to take place over the following two weekends.
