Two last-eight ties settled on penalties
TWO county cup quarter-finals were settled by penalty shoot-outs at the weekend.
Redgrave Rangers Reserves edged past Occold 4-3 on spot kicks following a 2-2 draw in the last eight of the McDonald’s Suffolk Primary Cup on Saturday.
They are now scheduled to play AFC Kesgrave Reserves in the semi-finals. Redgrave Rangers Reserves (red & black striped shirts) are pictured above in action versus Mendlesham (green shirts).
Northam Celtic and Ixworth shared six goals in their Best Badges Suffolk Sunday Trophy quarter-final tie, before engaging in an epic penalty shoot-out, with Northam Celtic winning 11-10!
The Ipswich Sunday Football League side, who are currently bottom of Division Two, will now face Stradbroke United who, like Ixworth, play in Division Three of the Premier Logos Bury & District Sunday League.
Both Godolphin and Kitchener Taverners won their outstanding Best Badges Suffolk Sunday Cup Quarter-Finals.
Godolphin got the better of ISFL Premier Division opponents Portman Rovers 2-1 to set up a semi-final tie at home to fellow BDSL Division One side Moreton Hall Youth Ferals.
Holders Kitchener Taverners, meanwhile, will travel to Bedfield of BDSL Division One in the last four after overcoming Real Suffolk 6-1 on Sunday.
Bury Bowl were 6-2 winners at Gainsborough United in the quarter-finals of the Best Badges Suffolk Sunday Shield and will now travel to Ipswich side Taverners for a place in the final.
The other quarter-final tie on Sunday between Red Star UK and Hardwick was abandoned, so Stowupland Falcons will have to wait to see who their semi-final opponents will be.
