Six quarter-finals over the weekend
SIX outstanding county cup quarter-finals are scheduled for this weekend.
The only tie on Saturday is the McDonald’s Suffolk Primary Cup clash between Gateway 14 SIL sides Redgrave Rangers Reserves and Occold.
Redgrave Rangers Reserves sit 10th in Division Four, while Occold are fourth in Division Three, so the visitors will be favourites to progress. Occold (sky blue shirts) are pictured above in action versus Bacton United 89 (red & green quartered shirts).
Three Ipswich Sunday Football League sides are involved in the remaining two Best Badges Suffolk Sunday Cup Quarter-Finals which are taking place on Sunday morning.
There’s an all-Premier Division clash between Real Suffolk, who are fourth, and second-placed Kitchener Taverners, who are the holders and looking to win this competition for the fifth time in the last eight seasons.
Portman Rovers, who are fifth, have home advantage in the other tie versus Premier Logos Bury & District Sunday League Division One side Godolphin, who were one of last season’s losing semi-finalists.
The two delayed Best Badges Suffolk Sunday Shield Quarter-Finals are also re-scheduled for Sunday morning.
Gainsborough United, who are top of Division One of the Ipswich Sunday Football League, with 11 wins from 14 matches, welcome Bury Bowl, leaders of Division Two of the Premier Logos Bury & District Sunday League.
Bury Bowl have won nine of their 12 league games so far this season, so an intriguing tie is in store.
The other tie is also an east versus west clash as Red Star UK, currently occupying sixth position in Division One of the ISFL, host Hardwick, who are seventh in Division Two of the BDSL.
The remaining match sees Northam Celtic, ninth in Division Two of the ISFL, at home to Ixworth, who are seventh in BDSL Division Three in the last eight of the Best Badges Suffolk Sunday Trophy.
