THE Suffolk county cup competitions get under way this weekend for the 2024-25 season.

There are first round ties in three competitions – the Best Badges Suffolk Sunday Cup, Shield and Trophy.

There are just two matches in the Best Badges Suffolk Sunday Cup, one of which sees holders Kitchener Taverners make the short trip to take on Holbrook Swan.

The other is between Haverhill Ex-Serviceman's, who last season reached the semi-finals of the Suffolk Sunday Trophy, and Godolphin, last season’s losing cup semi-finalists, in an all-West Suffolk clash.

There are six ties in the Best Badges Suffolk Sunday Shield, including last season’s Best Badges Suffolk Sunday Trophy winners Gardeners Arms at home to Ipswich Elite.

Risby Greens, who lost on penalties in last season’s Best Badges Suffolk Sunday Trophy semi-finals on penalties to Barton Mills, start their quest to go one better in the same competition this season away to Red Lodge Rovers.
