Kirton Athletic Res reach the last eight

KIRTON Athletic Reserves are through to the Suffolk Primary Cup Quarter-Finals.

KIRTON Athletic Reserves are through to the quarter-finals of this season’s McDonald’s Suffolk Primary Cup.

They defeated visitors Beccles Town ‘A’ 3-0 in their third-round tie on Saturday to take their place in the quarter-final draw.

They become the sixth side to confirm their place in the last eight of this season’s competition.

The other two places are still to be decided, but Boxford Rovers took a step closer by winning their re-arranged second-round match 4-2 on penalties following a 1-1 draw at Bacton United 89 Reserves.

They will now visit Unity this coming Saturday, while East Bergholt United ‘A’ will entertain Occold in the other outstanding third-round match on Saturday, January 27th.

The draw for the quarter-finals of the Primary Cup (pictured above) will be announced on BBC Radio Suffolk between 6.30pm and 7pm on Friday.

The scheduled third-round matches in both the Portable Space Suffolk Mixed Under-12 and Under-13 Cups went ahead on Sunday.

There were big wins for both Wickham Market Navy U12s and Needham Market EJA U13s.

The draws for the quarter-finals will be announced at 5pm on Tuesday.
