Wet weather causes cup havoc once again
FOR the second time in a fortnight the weather caused havoc in the Veo Suffolk U18 Midweek Cup.
All five of Thursday night’s second-round ties were postponed due to waterlogged pitches after heavy rainfall late in the afternoon and through into the evening.
The only match to be played from those postponed two weeks ago when a combination of frozen and waterlogged pitches caused six ties to be postponed, was Wednesday’s Lowestoft derby.
Lowestoft Town won 3-1 at Kirkley & Pakefield to book their place in the quarter-finals of this season’s competition.
The Trawlerboys join AFC Sudbury and Needham Market in the draw for the last eight which will now be further delayed.
New dates for the five matches postponed on Thursday will be announced in due course.
