New date arranged for Premier Cup ties

A DATE has been arranged for the three remaining postponed Suffolk Premier Cup ties.

A DATE has been arranged for the three remaining postponed Turners Hyundai Suffolk Premier Cup ties.

New dates for three of the six second-round ties that were postponed due to heavy rain on Tuesday and Wednesday had already been confirmed.

Now the three remaining ties – Hadleigh United v Lakenheath, Leiston v Brantham Athletic and Needham Market v Walsham-le-Willows – have all been rearranged for Tuesday, March 1st.

The updated list of matches for the second round, all with 7.45pm kick-offs, is as follows:

Wednesday, February 23rd: Ipswich Town XI v Stowmarket Town at Stowmarket Town FC.

Tuesday, March 1st: Hadleigh United v Lakenheath, Haverhill Rovers v Woodbridge Town, Leiston v Brantham Athletic, Needham Market v Walsham-le-Willows.

Tuesday, March 8th: Bury Town v Felixstowe & Walton United.

Mildenhall Town, 1-0 winners away to AFC Sudbury, and Kirkley & Pakefield, who came from behind to beat Long Melford 3-1, are the only two sides so far through to the last eight.

The quarter-finals for this season’s competition are scheduled for Tuesday, March 15th and Wednesday March 16th.

Holders Needham Market (red shirts) are pictured above in action against Lowestoft Town (blue shirts) in the first leg of the 2019-20 final. Needham will now start their defence of the competition, at home to Walsham-le-Willows, on Tuesday, March 1st.
