Laws of the Game

The changes announced by IFAB (The International Football Association Board) have come into effect ahead of the 2016-17 season.

The revised changes were needed in order to ensure they are more accessible and more easily understood by everyone.

These revised Laws of the Game came into effect on June 1st and were used for the first time during the European Championships.

Suffolk FA Referee Development Officer Mary Harmer said: “It is important all referees familiarise themselves with the new Law changes during the closed season. 

“It would be helpful for players, coaches and those interested in football to have an understanding of the new Law changes will affect football.”
