THE goals came thick and fast in the Suffolk Veterans’ Cup at the weekend.

There were 53 goals in just eight second-round ties on Sunday at an average of 6.6 per game.

AFC Sudbury led the way with an 11-1 victory over Kesgrave Kestrels, while Aldeburgh and Bury Town Reserves both scored seven times to reach round three.

Walsham-le-Willows netted six, Ipswich Magpies five and Ipswich Wanderers four, while just one goal saw Foxhall Town defeat Ipswich Vale Exiles.

The wet weather forced three matches to be postponed.

The draw for the third round will not be announced until Thursday, December 15th.
