TWO Suffolk officials will be involved in the Vitality Women’s FA Cup Semi-Finals.

TWO Suffolk officials will be involved in the Vitality Women’s FA Cup Semi-Finals.

Abi Byrne has been selected to referee the match between Arsenal and Brighton & Hove Albion, while Emily Heaslip will be the fourth official for the heldover 2020-21 last-four tie.

The appointment of Abi, who is 29 and lives near Mildenhall, and 28-year-old Emily from Bury St Edmunds will be the first time that two females from Suffolk have been involved in such a high-profile fixture.

The match is taking place at the LV Bet Stadium, Meadow Park, Boreham Wood this coming Sunday, October 31st and will be shown live on BBC 2, kick-off 4.45pm.

Suffolk FA Workforce Development Manager Alan Dale said: “I would like to congratulate both Abi and Emily on their appointment to the semi-final of The FA Women’s Cup this weekend. On behalf of Suffolk FA, we wish Abi, Emily and the team of match officials the very best for the occasion.”
