Quarter-final cup spots up for grabs

QUARTER-FINAL places in the Suffolk Junior Cup are up for grabs this weekend.

QUARTER-FINAL places in the Parkers Pitches Suffolk Junior Cup are up for grabs this weekend.

Seven of the eight third-round matches are set to go-ahead on Saturday afternoon.

Macron SIL Division One leaders Tattingstone will be aiming to avoid a potential banana skin at Thurston, who are 11th in SIL Division Two.

An all-SIL Division Two clash sees third-placed Cockfield United entertain Somersham, who sit second.

Two Lowestoft & District League Division One sides – Mutford & Wrentham and Waveney ‘A’ – have home advantage against SIL Division Two opposition Saxmundham Sports and Melton United respectively.

Sporting 87, losing semi-finalists last season, entertain Carlton Colville Town, who have lost just one of their 11 league fixtures and are currently second in Division Five South of the Anglian Combination.

The draw for the quarter-finals will be announced via the Suffolk FA Twitter feed on Monday, December 6th at 3pm.

The last remaining tie in the first round of the CNet Training Suffolk Senior Cup is scheduled for Saturday afternoon.

Macron SIL Senior Division leaders Claydon will be looking to upset their Thurlow Nunn League Division One South visitors Cornard United.

The final second-round fixture in the Suffolk Senior Reserve Cup is also taking place, with Lakenheath Reserves hosting Bungay Town Reserves. The draw for the third round will be announced via the Suffolk FA Twitter feed at 3pm on Monday.

On Sunday attention turns to the 13 ties scheduled in the second round of the Best Badges Suffolk Veterans’ Cup.

Holders Whitton United along with AFC Kesgrave and Beccles Caxton are already in the hat for the third round, following the withdrawal of their opponents.

Bury Town will be guaranteed representation in the last 16 as their first team face their Reserves.

The draw for the third round will be announced via the Suffolk FA Twitter feed at 4pm on Monday.
