Haverhill Borough Chairperson Kayleigh Steed said in a letter to Suffolk FA Chief Executive Richard Neal: “I am writing to you to thank you for your donation to Haverhill Borough FC via the Suffolk FA Emergency Grant.

“Your support will be valuable in helping to keep Haverhill Borough sustainable for another season to ensure we are providing male adult football in the National League System for people in Haverhill.

“Due to having the disappointment of cancelled fundraising for the club during this period, the money we have received from yourselves will help enormously by making sure we can pay off any liabilities and allows us to concentrate on the new season when football is safe to return.

“Again, I cannot thank you enough for your generous donation to Haverhill Borough. This has really helped the club move in a forward direction after what was becoming a difficult period.”

Haverhill Borough, who are based at The New Croft along with Haverhill Rovers, took advantage of the initial £40,000 pot that was made available to clubs in immediate danger due to COVID-19.

The next deadline for applications is 5pm on Monday, June 22nd and any clubs with immediate financial concerns are encouraged to get in touch with Suffolk FA ahead of submitting an application in accordance with the letter issued to clubs on April 28th.

Richard Neal added: “Even if not applying for an Emergency Grant, we are keen to use this time to help clubs, players, volunteers, coaches and officials be as prepared as possible for when the new season can start, so please do continue to get in touch with the Suffolk FA team on 01449 616606 or via email info@suffolkfa.com
