SUFFOLK County Cup action returns with a vengeance with 29 ties scheduled for this weekend.

After just two matches last weekend, a total of 22 matches are set to be played on Saturday in the McDonald’s Suffolk Primary Cup Second Round.

Seven weeks have elapsed since the two first-round ties were played before the country went into a second lockdown.

One of those involved were Macron SIL Division Three leaders Bramford United, who were due to host Old Newton United A’ from Intermediate A of the SIL.

However, that is one of six ties involving SIL sides that have been postponed.

Bardwell Sports, who are second behind Bramford United, travel to Walsham-le-Willows ‘A’, who play in Intermediate B.

The following day there are two ties in the second round of the Rushmere Golf Club Suffolk Sunday Cup, which both pit sides in the east of the county versus those in the west.

AFC Bergholt host last season’s losing finalists Brandon Town Community, while Wetherden will entertain Felixstowe Harpers United.

There is just one tie in the newly-named Veo Suffolk Sunday Shield Second Round as Bury & District Sunday League Division Two side Bury Bowl welcome Ipswich Sunday League Division Two opponents Gipping Gnats.

In the afternoon there are four ties still outstanding from the first round of the Best Badges Suffolk Veterans’ Cup, which include last season’s two finalists.

Holders Whitton United travel to AFC Kesgrave and Woodbridge Town, who they defeated 3-0 in the final at Hadleigh United FC, travel up the coast to face Waveney.
