Three teams net double figures

THREE teams hit double figures in the second round of the Suffolk Primary Cup.

THREE teams hit double figures in the second round of the McDonald’s Suffolk Primary Cup on Saturday.

Elmswell and Kirton Athletic Reserves led the way, winning 12-1 versus Hawthorn United and Redgrave Rangers Reserves respectively.

Leiston A also notched double digits with a 10-0 success at home to Coplestonians A.

Melton United put eight goals past Gunton without reply, while Cavendish and Witnesham Wasps were both 7-1 winners – Witnesham at Carlton Colville Reserves and Cavendish at home to Cokfield United Reserves.

The third-round draw will be announced via the Suffolk FA Twitter feed on Tuesday lunchtime at 12.30pm.

Sudbury Sports Academy won 3-2 at Wickham Market in the replayed Total Football Suffolk Junior Cup tie – the original match was abandoned due to an injury to the match official – on Saturday.

They will now entertain Barham Athletic in the third round this coming Saturday.

Woodbridge Town, last season’s Suffolk Veterans’ Cup runners-up, won 10-1 at home to Old Times on Sunday in the second round of this season’s competition.

Two other ties saw an aggregate of ten goals scored – Beccles Caxton defeated Felixstowe Falcons 7-3 and BOCA Norman Warriors won by the same scoreline at Waveney Athletic.

Cockfield United also found the net seven times on the road at Trimley Sports & Social Club and Spexhall Huntsman & Hounds six times at Coplestonians Reserves, both without conceding.

The third-round draw will be announced via the Suffolk FA Twitter feed on Wednesday lunchtime at 12.30pm.
