Two teams net 28 goals in Junior Cup

TWO teams scored 28 goals between them in the Suffolk Junior Cup on Saturday.

BARHAM Athletic and Bedricks Worth scored 28 goals between them in the second round of the Total Football Suffolk Junior Cup on Saturday.

Lowestoft League side Crusaders were on the wrong end of a 15-0 drubbing at Braham Athletic, whose captain Malachi Spink (far left) is pictured above scoring his side’s twelfth goal.

Bedricks Worth, who are based just outside Bury St Edmunds, were 13-0 winners at home to Haverhill Rovers A.

Coddenham Athletic and Tattingstone United both netted six goals apiece as they defeated Ufford Sports and Hundon respectively.

The draw for the third round will be announced via the Suffolk FA Twitter feed on Wednesday lunchtime at 12.30pm.

Former winners Hadleigh United progressed in this season’s Days Sports Suffolk Senior Reserve Cup, winning 2-1 at Long Melford, while Whitton United went through 5-4 on penalties following a 2-2 draw at Mildenhall Town.

Haverhill & Hove Albion, runners-up in last season’s Suffolk Sunday Trophy, hit double figures as they moved into the last eight of this season’s Suffolk Sunday Shield.

Albion were 10-1 winners away to Rosary CC, with the 11-goal aggregate being matched as Bungay Town beat Trimley Raiders 8-3 and Baltic United’s 6-5 victory at Laxfield United.

The quarter-final draw will be filmed live on the Suffolk FA Twitter feed at 12.30pm on Thursday lunchtime.

Two teams found the net six times in round three of the Suffolk Sunday Trophy.

Thrasher United won 6-4 at Great Blakenham Chequers Reserves, while Hardy saw off AFC Claydon 6-2.

Bardwell Sports, the 2017-18 winners, were knocked out 5-4 on penalties by Elmswell Athletic after a 1-1 draw.

The quarter-final draw will be filmed live on the Suffolk FA Twitter feed at 12.30pm on Friday lunchtime.
