Total Football to sponsor Junior Cup

TOTAL Football have agreed to sponsor the Suffolk Junior Cup for the next two seasons.

TOTAL Football have agreed to sponsor the Suffolk Junior Cup for the next two seasons.

The competition, which was first played for in the 1989-90 season, will be known as the Total Football Suffolk Junior Cup.

The independent shop based in Ipswich has been supplying local sports clubs and schools with equipment for the past 17 years.

Owner Karen Cornforth said: “We are delighted to sponsor the Suffolk Junior Cup for the next two seasons.

“We have been a sponsor and partner of Suffolk FA for a number of years and this sponsorship further strengthens our relationship.

“We are looking forward to what will no doubt be another well-contested competition this season.”

Suffolk FA Chief Executive Richard Neal said: “Over the past 17 years, Total Football have grown to be a prominent provider of football kit and equipment to local clubs.

“Karen and her team are known for first-class customer service and doing all they can to support local football. I’m delighted to announce this expansion of our existing relationship.

“With 51 teams competing this season, the Total Football Suffolk Junior Cup will be as competitive as it has ever been. It all starts with some juicy first-round ties to be played on Saturday, September 28th.”

For the past two seasons the final of the Suffolk Junior Cup has been staged at Portman Road.

Bildeston Rangers lifted the cup for the first time last season, beating Bacton United 4-2 in the final.

The draw for the first round of this season’s competition will be announced via the Suffolk FA Twitter feed at 12.30pm on Wednesday.
