SUFFOLK FA are inviting expressions of interest for applications to run an SSE Wildcats Centre for girls aged 5-11.

There are currently 21 licensed SSE Wildcats Centres in Suffolk as follows: AFC Sudbury, Beccles Town, Brantham Athletic, Bungay Town, Capel Plough, Coplestonians, Felixstowe & Walton, Footstars, Great Finborough, Hadleigh United, Haverhill Rovers, Ipswich Valley Rangers, Kesgrave Kestrels, Mid Suffolk Leisure, Needham Market, Northgate, Rawsoccer, Suffolk WAYS, Waveney FC, Woodbridge Town and Whitton.

Suffolk FA Girls & Women’s Football Development Officer Rebecca Bolton said: “There has also been a growth in the girls’ and women’s game over the last few seasons. This year mini soccer has increased by 10 teams and youth and adult increased too.

“The SSE Wildcats Centres offer a fantastic opportunity to engage 5-11 year old girls with football in a fun and safe environment!

“This opportunity comes with funding, equipment, training and resources. All you need to apply is an FA level 1 coach (with an FA DBS, First Aid & Safeguarding) plus a female volunteer/coach, if possible, and the correct policies and procedure in place to ensure the environment is safe for the players.

“We welcome applications from a variety of organisations – football clubs, coaching companies, councils and education establishments, but they must have links to a junior football club where the girls can join should they wish.”

Application window opens – November 2019

Application window closes – December 2019

Successful Organisations notified – December 2019

SSE Wildcats Training – March 2020

SSE Wildcats Centre start date - April 2020
