Same sides meet in Primary Cup Final

AFC YourShirts and Bures United meet once again in the Suffolk Primary Cup Final.

WE’LL meet again…

Twelve months on from lining-up against each other in the Suffolk Primary Cup Final, AFC YourShirts and Bures United meet once again in the final of this season’s competition.

Bures United took the honours in last season’s final, winning 2-1 at Colchester United’s Weston Homes Community Stadium.

This time the two teams will be walking out alongside each other on Tuesday evening for what is thought to be the first Suffolk Primary Cup Final to take place at Portman Road, kick-off 7.30pm.

AFC YourShirts, who have won promotion after finishing runners-up in Division Three of the Touchline SIL, will be looking to atone for last season’s final defeat.

Bures United, who lost 2-1 to Barham Athletic in the 2014-15 Primary Cup Final, have also finished second in Division Two of the Essex & Suffolk Border League.

Both sides enjoyed narrow victories at the semi-final stage – AFC YourShirts defeated Trimley Sports & Social Club 2-1 at Ipswich Wanderers FC, while Bures

United beat St Edmunds 1965 by the same scoreline at The New Croft in Haverhill.

Admission to Tuesday’s final is £5 for adults and £2 for concessions which applies to OAPS and children aged under-16.

Pre-school children accompanied by an adult will be admitted for £1.

A souvenir programme, priced £1, will be on sale.
