Senior Cup tie is postponed again
WEDNESDAY evening’s CNet Training Suffolk Senior Cup semi-final tie has been postponed for a second time.
The tie between Achilles and Woodbridge Town was called off following a mid-afternoon pitch inspection by match official Andy Gray at Felixstowe & Walton United FC.
Steady rain throughout Wednesday had left the Goldstar Ground pitch waterlogged.
The Seasiders were also scheduled to host the tie on the original date of Friday, March 9th, but heavy rain in the hours leading up to kick-off left the officials with no alternative than to call the game off.
Wednesday night's Days Sports Suffolk Senior Reserve Cup semi-final tie between Stowmarket Town, the holders, and Whitton United has also been postponed.
The match, which was scheduled to take place at Humber Doucy Lane, home of Ipswich Wanderers FC, was called off due to a waterlogged pitch earlier in the day.
New dates for both matches will be advised in due course.
