Two cup draws brought forward

THE semi-final draws for two of Suffolk’s major county cup competitions will be broadcast on BBC Radio Suffolk on Wednesday evening.

THE semi-final draws for two of Suffolk’s major county cup competitions will be broadcast on BBC Radio Suffolk on Wednesday evening.

The Omni Freight Services Suffolk Premier Cup and CNet Training Senior Cup draws will be announced at around 7.30pm on the station’s pre-match programme ahead of Ipswich Town’s Sky Bet Championship fixture versus Cardiff City.

Suffolk County Cups Competitions Manager Adrian Moye said: “The advertised date for the draws to be announced was originally listed as this Saturday.

“However, Radio Suffolk approached us with a view to broadcasting the draw during Wednesday night’s pre-match programme, and so it made sense to bring the release of the draw forward.

“The semi-final draws of our county cup competitions are always eagerly-anticipated, especially by the competing clubs, so this means everyone won’t have to wait so long to find out who will be playing who!”

The four remaining teams in the Omni Freight Services Suffolk Premier Cup are Bury Town, Kirkley & Pakefield, Leiston and holders Needham Market.

Five sides will be in the semi-final draw in the CNet Training Suffolk Senior Cup as Leiston Reserves face Brantham Athletic Reserves in their quarter-final tie this Saturday.

The three other teams involved in the draw are holders Achilles, Bungay Town and Woodbridge Town.
