Framlingham get a bye in Premier Cup

NEWCOMERS Framlingham Town have received a bye in the Suffolk Premier Cup.

TWO Bostik League clubs will play lower-league Thurlow Nunn League clubs in the first round of this season’s Suffolk Premier Cup.

Bostik North Mildenhall Town will entertain Stowmarket Town of the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division.

The other tie sees Long Melford of the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division host Bostik North Felixstowe & Walton United.

The other 14 clubs all received byes in the first round of the draw which was announced on BBC Radio Suffolk’s Matchday programme on Saturday afternoon.

They include an Ipswich Town XI (last season the club entered as an Under-18 side) and Framlingham Town, who are playing in the competition for the first time.

Action is pictured above from last season’s final between Bury town (orange shirts) and Leiston (blue shirts) at Portman Road. Leiston won 3-0 to lift the cup for the first time.

Byes: AFC Sudbury, Brantham Athletic, Bury Town, Framlingham Town, Hadleigh Utd, Haverhill Rovers, Ipswich Town XI, Kirkley & Pakefield, Leiston, Lowestoft Town, Needham Market, Walsham-le-Willows, Whitton Utd, Woodbridge Town.

Ties to be played on Tuesday, October 9th or Wednesday, October 10th 2018, kick-offs 7.45pm.
