Schools' Sides Start Season On Saturday

THE Suffolk County Schools’ FA season kicks-off on Saturday with their first competitive fixture against Hertfordshire Schools’ FA.

The SCSFA Under-16 Boys’ side host Hertfordshire Schools in the first round of the ESFA National First Round Competition, while the Under-14 and Under-16 Girls’ sides make the journey to Watford for their first SEESFA fixture of the season.

The U16 Boys’ side, who are managed by Arron Hall (above left) and Kieran Lawler (above right), will play their fixture at Bourne Vale Sports & Social Club, kick-off 10.30am.

The SCSFA didn’t enter the ESFA Cup last season so will be a new experience for the players and staff this season to see how far they can progress in the competition.

Please come down to Bourne Vale Sports & Social Club to show your support for the players at the start of their cup journey.

While the boys are preparing for a home game, the schools Girls’ team are getting ready for an away trip to play Hertfordshire.

These will be their first games of the new season. Over the summer the Girls’ team have taken advantage of having their trials prior to the summer and have been training every Friday to help the players get to know one another and develop their team understanding.

U14 Girls coach Darren Scoulding said: “It has been great to have both the U14 & U16 Girls rep squads training throughout August and September. Not only has this enabled us to work with the girls but I feel that really good squad dynamics have been formed.”

These fixtures will take place at the start off the Suffolk FA Love Football, Live Football Week sponsored by MH Goals Ltd, which is a celebration of grassroots football across the county with a variety of events taking place.
