Globex Referee Sponsorship 2017

Globex Widen Sponsorship of Referees

GLOBEX Freight Management are to sponsor the entire Suffolk FA Referee Development Programme.

The Martlesham Heath-based company have sponsored the Suffolk FA Youth Referees’ Academy for the past six seasons.

Globex Managing Director Andy Wilding has now agreed to extend the deal to cover not just the academy but the development of all referees across Suffolk for the 2017-18 season.

He said: “For the seventh consecutive season, I am pleased to sponsor the Referees’ Academy at Suffolk FA. I often get asked ‘why do I do it?’ or ‘what do I get out of it?’ and the answer is quite simple; having my business name at the very forefront of refereeing development at our County FA and seeing my brand on referee attire adorned by young referees & referee coaches alike, it gives me a fantastic feel of satisfaction.

“Sure, I get calls from people I have never heard of. Some are business people, some are simply friends in the local footballing circle.

“I get quite a buzz seeing the Globex Freight Management Ltd brand highlighted in the local media, on the Suffolk FA website and at various Academy refereeing events.”

Wilding, who is a former referee himself and is now a licensed FA referee tutor, has backed the Youth Referees’ Academy as he is only too aware of the importance of developing young referees.

However, he continued: “There is a plethora of opportunities available at Suffolk FA to promote one’s business and following a meeting with Alan Dale, Suffolk FA’s newly-appointed Senior Referee Development Officer, there is an opportunity to spread my sponsorship further afield that would include all refereeing across Suffolk.

“The Suffolk FA website is looked at by my numerous people on a daily basis and our brand is on the front page for all to see. Every ‘click’ on the referee page and our brand appears in full view.

“Football is watched by thousands of people virtually every day and word of mouth is the greatest way to advertise.”

Suffolk FA Senior Referee Development Officer Alan Dale said: “I am delighted that Andy has chosen to extend his sponsorship for this season.

“The referees that have been part of the Referees’ Academy have benefited massively from his support in recent seasons and it is fantastic that this will now extend to all of the Match Officials and the Referee Development Team.

“My thanks go to Andy and Globex Freight Management for their continued investment in to improving refereeing standards and opportunities for all in Suffolk.”
