Plum Appointments For Suffolk Officials

SUFFOLK referees have received some plum end-of-season appointments.

Chris Pollard has been appointed as the referee for Wednesday evening’s National League South Play-Off Semi-Final between Hampton & Richmond and Ebbsfleet United, kick-off 7.45pm.

Rob Massey-Ellis, who was previously a Suffolk referee, will be the fourth official.

For the return leg at Ebbsfleet on Sunday, May 7th, kick-off 3pm, AJ Dale will be the referee and his Suffolk colleague Ollie Morris-Sanders will be an assistant referee.

Abi Marriott, who has already been appointed an assistant referee at the SSE Women’s FA Cup Final at Wembley, has also been appointed to the FA Women’s Premier League Cup Final along with Mary Harmer.

Mary, who is Suffolk FA Referee Development Officer, has been appointed as an assistant referee, while Abi will be fourth official for the fixture between Charlton Athletic and Tottenham Hotspur.

The match is taking place at Stevenage’s Lamex Stadium, also on Sunday, May 7th at 2pm.

Steve Finch, who lives in Suffolk but is affiliated to the Army FA, has been appointed as an assistant referee at The FA Sunday Cup Final on the same day.

The final between Hardwick Social and New Salamis is taking place at Bramall Lane, home of Sheffield United FC, kick-off 2pm.

Meanwhile, Suffolk official Harry Scott has been promoted by The FA to be a Level 3 Contributory League referee next season.

Suffolk FA Referee Development Officer Mary Harmer said: “Appointments such as these are great recognition of the hard work Suffolk referees have committed to refereeing this season.

“I wish all match officials involved in these games all the very best of luck.

“I would also like to congratulate Harry on his fantastic achievement. Harry is one of 101 referees who has been promoted to Level 3 which demonstrates the accolade he rightly deserves.”
