Oulton Broad In To Third Final In Five Years

OULTON Broad are through to their third Suffolk FA Junior Cup Final in the last five years.

The Lowestoft & District League side beat Benhall St Mary 2-1 on Saturday to book their place in this season’s final.

Oulton Broad they will face the Touchline SIL side Bacton United, who also won 2-1 in their semi-final on Saturday against Brandon Town at Walsham-le-Willows FC.

The final is scheduled for the Weston Homes Community Stadium, on Tuesday, May 9th, subject to Colchester United not reaching the League Two play-offs.

The remaining three Sunday cup finalists were all settled at the weekend, after being postponed due to waterlogged pitches a fortnight.

AFC Chelmondiston will have the chance to make amends for losing to Tostock in last season’s Suffolk FA Sunday Cup Final.

They beat AFC Bergholt 4-2 on penalties following a 1-1 after extra time at Brantham Leisure Centre, home of Brantham Athletic FC, on Sunday.

They will now face Mellis in the final which is scheduled to be played at the Weston Homes Community Stadium on Sunday, May 7th.

Leiston Orient were 1-0 winners against Eastern Electricity Old Boys in the semi-final of the Suffolk FA Sunday Shield at Felixstowe & Walton United to set up a final versus Rushmere Lions.

Haverhill Borough beat Elmsett United 4-3 in their Suffolk FA Sunday Trophy Semi-Final at Long Melford FC to reach the final where they will face Lavenham.

The finals of both the Sunday Shield and Sunday Trophy will form part of ‘Super Sunday’ along with the Suffolk FA Veterans’ Cup Final at AFC Sudbury on Sunday, April 23rd.
