Suffolk Coaches Network Is Returning

WITH the 2017-18 football season now up and running, the development of all coaches across Suffolk is at the forefront of the County FA plans,...

This September will see the first County run FA UEFA B Licence commencing, with the full programme of FA courses due to be published shortly.

The Suffolk FA Coaches Academy is now entering its third year, with 40 coaches over the last two years having received access to a range of events designed to support, develop and enhance coaching within Suffolk.

A further 20 coaches are being recruited for this season, with a programme of events planned that will provide a variety of opportunities, events and initiatives for coaches to develop and challenge themselves. The deadline to apply for this season’s intake is Friday, September 1st.

To apply, please see the document at the foot of the page.

Suffolk FA Flexible Football Officer Darren Scoulding said: “This season will see 60 like-minded coaches in the programme, with a programme of events planned that will not only support the coaches but will take them outside of their comfort zone and provide regular observational feedback to them during the season.”

All FA Licensed Coaches in the region will be catered for by a series of FREE CPD events spread across the county. These events, in conjunction with County Coach Developer Jamie Godbold and a number of guest speakers, are designed to provide support to coaches on a number of themes, with the recently released FA DNA Foundation phase a key focus for Suffolk FA.

Darren Scoulding said: “It is imperative that we provide an accessible and enjoyable learning programme in the county. Sharing best practice with our coaching workforce, coupled with highlighting emerging areas of coach development underpin our Learning strand at Suffolk FA.”

The county benefits from having five FA Coach Mentors, working closely with coaches in the county. These mentors provide support on coaching, player development and implementing the England DNA into the grassroots game.

This year sees the programme extended to provide increased support to a number of key areas identified by the county as follows:

Michael Cornall – Youth Leagues & Suffolk Coaches Academy michael.cornall@thefa.com

Darren Scoulding – BAME & Female Football darren.scoulding@thefa.com

Paul Neary – Post-Course Support paul.neary@thefa.com

Graham Bunn – Clubs (North) graham.bunn@thefa.com

Adrian Smith – Clubs (South) adrian.smith@thefa.com
