The FA considers it important that each club should have officials trained to deal with first aid and the treatment of injuries. It is best practice to have a qualified first aider at every game and as of the 1st August 2013 only FA Emergency First Aid qualifications will be accepted.

This is a three hour workshop which offers basic advice on how to preserve life, limit the effects of an injury and promote recovery. Topics covered include mouth to mouth resuscitation, heart-lung resuscitation, control of bleeding, dressing of wounds, minimising shock, dealing with heart attacks.

You are advised to wear loose, comfortable clothing as part of the workshop will involve being put in the recovery position. Upon successful completion of the workshop you will receive a Football Association Emergency Aid Certificate which is valid for three years.

If your club has 10-12 people who are interested then a workshop can be organised specifically for you by filling in the form attached below and returning it to Ali Partridge.

Renewals

The Emergency First Aid certificate lasts for three years only. If your emergency first aid has expired you must attend another course to update your qualification.
