The league was officially launched in October 2013 at a festival featuring eleven under-10s teams playing in 7v7 fixtures.
The festival was hosted by King Edwards VI School in Bury, who are a partner of the league and provide young leaders to act as referees.
There are currently 50 team from under-7 to under-13 teams taking part in the league on Saturday mornings. To view the latest updates regardings WAYS on Full-Time click here
The philosophy of WAYS, which stands for Western Area Youth Soccer, and different ‘WAYS’ to play the game, is all about creating an environment for players to have fun, learn and develop.
Car dealership Drive Vauxhall of Bury St Edmunds agreed a four-figure sum in December 2013 to sponsor Suffolk FA WAYS for the next 12 months.
This has been extended to a three-year deal to the end of the 2017-18 season.
Suffolk FA Football Development Manager Nathan French, who has been instrumental along with the WAYS Committee in getting the league off the ground, said: “I am delighted that Drive Vauxhall will be sponsoring WAYS.
“The money will be mainly used to help promote WAYS as well as funding future festivals for new teams that come in to the league.
“I am looking forward to working with Drive Vauxhall in this exciting new partnership and developing WAYS in the future.”
