Job Description: The core function is to support the senior first-team squad on match days, training evenings and to join the management team in developing individual fitness, strength and dietary plans.
The candidate needs to be able to assess, identify and treat injuries and devise rehab programs to get the player(s) back playing as quickly as possible.
The club would want to see a level of confidence in educating the management team towards a player’s genuine fitness levels and whether they are fit to play a competitive game.
For this you may need to conduct fitness tests on the day of a game. The club would also encourage involvement in isolated fitness/strength sessions, where comfortable. This is a hugely important role at any football club.
There is also scope for private work out of the treatment room provided at the football club. Over time (not till the primary responsibilities are in place), the successful candidate should be able to work with the board and management team to devise a business plan across the whole club and how they best support the other ten youth and five senior teams and any other sports club linked to Brantham Leisure Centre.
BAFC play in the Thurlow Nunn Premier League and the fixtures are largely in the Suffolk region, with one or two just over the Essex and Norfolk borders.

A vacancy has arisen for a Walking Football Session Leader in Ipswich.
ActivIpswich is a sports programme for people who are over 50 and not currently playing regular sport.
It is delivered by ActivLives and is a partnership with Ipswich Borough Council.
Currently two weekly Walking Football sessions are run in Ipswich on Thursday and Friday afternoons.
The sessions are held indoors and are targeted at the 50+ age group.
This is ‘social sport’ where the cuppa afterwards is almost as important as the game itself.
ActivLives are looking for a Session Leader for either or both of these groups.
The role is to lead the warm-up, referee the game and lead the warm down.
You will then be making sure that the group enjoy a cuppa and a chat before they leave.
There is a minimal amount of administration to complete for each session including taking session fees and keeping a register.
You will need to:

  • Have a relevant fitness, sport or PE qualification, preferably at level two or above
  • Have relevant sports leadership and/or coaching experience

You do not need to be a qualified football coach to be suitable for this role.
Hourly rates of pay are negotiable.

Carlton Colville Town, who play on Saturday afternoons, are seeking new players from 15 years upwards.

Suffolk Positive Futures works with young people aged 10-19 across Suffolk and delivers a range of community sports sessions after school and evenings (particularly Fridays) across the county.

  • To arrive in time to assist with setting up any equipment needed to run and start the class on time
  • To take a lead with instructing the session with due regard to health and safety considerations, and be aware of the projects’ health and safety procedures.

Haverhill Rovers is an FA Chartered Community Football Club whose first team currently play step 5 football in the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties League Premier Division.
The club is located at the fantastic New Croft facility which is a £2million investment completed in 2010 through the Haverhill Sports Community Association and consists of a new stadium along with an additional senior pitch, youth pitches and to include a new full size 3G football pitch due to be completed  in early 2016.
An exciting vacancy has arisen for an U21 coach whose main objective will be to support the delivery of the football club’s player development strategy that aims to develop players through the club’s youth system to the first team.
The U21 team also operates as the club’s Reserve Team and play in the Essex and Herts U21 Border League with fixtures being played in a flexible format either during the week or on a Saturday.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  

  • The day to day running of the U21/Reserve team including match days and training.
  •  Liaise with the first team manager to ensure young players’ performance is regularly analysed for progression.
  • Liaise with the U18 and Eastern Junior Alliance youth managers to ensure future potential players are being developed correctly for senior progression.
  • Provide players with balanced feedback so they understand their own individual development goals.
  • Communicate with the senior committee to ensure the club strategy is clearly outlined and is being followed.

 

Ideally the successful candidate should be Level 2 - UEFA Qualified and have experience of working at a step 5 or above football club as well as working with and developing talented young football players.
They should have the passion and drive to deliver the clubs football strategy to develop and produce its own talent to enable the club to potentially progress up the football pyramid by using the core of its own developed talent.

UCS Students’ Union was established in 2007, and exists to represent and support over 5,000 students that currently study at UCS across four centres based in Suffolk and Norfolk.
The Students’ Union is student led and provides sports and social activities for its members. The Student Activities Department manage sport at UCS, including competitive teams, mentoring sports scholars and the recreational sports program, Most Active Students.
UCS Students’ Union is seeking to appoint an ambitious and qualified Football coach. The preferred candidate will be eager to develop the UCS Men's Football Club first team from September 2015 in partnership with the Student Activities Manager.
The successful applicant will be required to plan and deliver well-organised sessions to suit the needs of the team as a collective and as individuals. Vision, passion and excellent interpersonal skills are critical for this role. People management skills are essential for this role and the candidate will have knowledge and experience of developing team performance.
Applicants should hold a minimum Level 2 qualification (ideally working towards Level 3), in addition to current First Aid, Safeguarding Qualifications and insurance.
The role will be self-employed at £20 per hour for coaching sessions and £50 for match attendance. Training will be on Monday evenings for 1.5 hours, starting late September 2015.
In addition to coaching the team between September and March, the coach will ideally be able to attend Wednesday afternoon fixtures, home and away throughout the University season.
The coach will be responsible for team selection and will liaise with the Club Committee and Student Activities Manager on a regular basis, which will include attending meetings.

Brandon Town Youth FC require a manager/coach for their Under-13 age group for the 2015/16 season playing on Sundays in the SNYFL.
Anyone interested in the position would need to hold a minimum of an FA level 1.
However, the club would be prepared to help the right candidate gain the required qualifications.

Woolverstone United
require new players for an Under-16 team next season.
Last season the team played as Shotley Rangers Under-15s and struggled to find enough players for the whole season, playing several games with 10 players.
The team are proposing to become Woolverstone United and play and train at Woolverstone in the hope this will attract new players as it is much more central for the Peninsula and much nearer to Ipswich.
Woolverstone hope to be able to play in Division Two of the South Suffolk Youth League next season.

team (soon to be U12s) who play in Division One of the Ipswich & Suffolk Youth League on Sundays are looking for players to try out for all positions.
The team play on Sunday Mornings and their home ground is Moreton Hall Prep School, Mount Road, Bury St Edmunds IP32 7BJ. Kick-off is typically 10.30am.
Training is every Wednesday from 6pm-7.15pm at Heldhaw Road, Bury St Edmunds IP32 7ER.
