St Benets Wasps, Framlingham Town Youth, Chantry Grasshoppers, Hadleigh United and Waveney Ethnic Minority Project all received Grow the Game grants.
The Grow the Game is a scheme run by the Football Foundation and allows selected clubs to bid for funding to deliver projects based around increasing participation of players and volunteers. Further information can be accessed via the link to the right of this article.
Charter Standard Clubs were invited to a workshop by Suffolk FA on the 19th January. This workshop provided clubs information on the grant, the process of applying, as well as good practise projects. This resulted in six organisations submitting applications for funding with support from the Suffolk FA Development Team.
The Football Foundation notified the successful Clubs on Tuesday with Chris Smith from Hadleigh United commenting “This grant will be extremely beneficial to the club and provide a solid foundation for the next 3 years.”
County Development Manager Chris Walsh expressed his delight, “This is fantastic news for both the Clubs and the football in the County. This grant will enable Clubs to provide more opportunities for participants in all four corners of the county.”
Each Club received a grant of £5,000 to support delivery of football in the County. To find out more about the Grow the Game Grant and other schemes available to your Club or Organisation please visit www.footballfoundation.org.uk.
