The most notable of the three saw the all-SIL Senior Division clash in the Suffolk FA Senior Cup, as Ransomes Sports entertained Capel Plough.
Ransomes went into the game five places above Capel in the League Table and their consistency combined with home advantage made them favorites on paper going into Saturday's match.
However Capel showed that form is irrelevant in Cup Football and it is all down to who performs on the day as they edged a tight encounter courtesy of Gary Collins' deflected effort late on. Capel Plough now go through to their second Suffolk FA Senior Cup Final in the last five years.
The second Semi-Final between the Ridgeons League First Division's Team Bury and SIL Senior Division Champions Grundisburgh was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch despite the best efforts of the Bury club. The match will now be played on Saturday 13th March at 3:00pm.
The date for the Suffolk FA Senior Cup Final is to be confirmed shortly.
The other two County Cup matches to be played at the weekend were also played on Saturday, as the four Suffolk FA Primary Cup Semi-Finalists; AFC Brickmakers & Somersham and Salvation Army & Glemsford went head-to-head.
A huge amount of effort went into getting both matches on; Salvation Army FC relocated to an alternative pitch at their ground whilst AFC Brickmakers kindly agreed to give up home advantage after Ipswich Borough Council closed their pitch on Thursday and the fixture was reversed to the ground of their opponents, Somersham.
Glemsford, from the Cambridgeshire BIS League, faced the trip to Stowmarket to take on last season's Runners-up from the SIL, Salvation Army. The playing surface was very wet but both teams still managed to play some attractive football.
Glemsford eased themselves into a comfortable 2-0 lead with goals either side of half-time and despite a fightback from the home team, they eventually ran out deserved 3-2 winners to book their first Suffolk FA Primary Cup Final appearance, a remarkable achievement having only formed as a club in 2005.
The second Semi-Final was another cracker, with Somersham staging the match at short notice. An end-to-end classic saw a total of seven goals scored and it was the hosts who edged it, claiming a famous 4-3 victory to book their spot in this season Suffolk FA Primary Cup Final on Saturday 10th April at a venue to be confirmed shortly.
