The ceremony marked the completion of the 12 week TEAM programme, which is run under the banner of Ipswich Town Community Trust.
The Mayor of Ipswich presented his new award for the Prince’s Trust Players’ Player to the team member who had made an outstanding contribution to the project over the past 12 weeks. The Mayor’s Award was voted for by each member of the team taking part in the programme run at Portman Road, with Edgar Miller taking the accolade.
David, who was recently named as an Ambassador for the Prince’s Trust for his contribution to the TEAM programme at Portman Road, was also joined by the friends and family of those involved as well as Ipswich Town Football Club’s Chief Executive Simon Clegg.
Ipswich Town were the first football club to become a direct delivery partner for the Prince’s Trust TEAM programme. Aimed at unemployed 16-25 year olds, the initiative works to offer support and help to those looking to make positive life decisions and move on to new opportunities, including employment.
The 12-week course consisted of a variety of activities that help those involved reach their ultimate goals whether this is gaining confidence or experience in the workplace. Course activities included a residential military experience trip, fundraising, helping organisations and charities in the local community and work experience.
