Groundsman of the Year Awards

2:17 PM, Friday, 04 December 09. Governance

The FA’s Groundsman of the Year is now in its ninth year. The Award was set up to recognise the contribution of these unsung heroes of the grass roots game and encourage the development of Groundsmanship.

This year Suffolk FA will be judging clubs at Step 7 and below
(All Clubs below Ridgeons League on Saturdays & all Sunday Clubs)

The Groundsman must be a member of the club.

If you would like to nominate your Club Groundsman for the Award a nomination form can be found under the related documents on this page.

Completed forms must be returned to Suffolk FA by Saturday 30th January 2010.

The Judges are not only looking at the quality of the pitch, but also take in to consideration the Groundsman's knowledge, the resources available to him\her, how often the pitch is used and whether he is full or part time.

The winner of the County’s FA award will go through to the National Awards where independent judging will take place during March 2010.

All County winners are then invited to attend a National Ceremony in the summer where the winners are announced and receive their awards.

Stanton FC from the Suffolk & Ipswich League won the Suffolk award last season.
