Charter Standard Coaches Prepared for New Season

4:11 PM, Tuesday, 15 December 09. Charter Standard

Coaches from Charter Standard Clubs were invited to attend an In Service Training Event at Bury Town Football Club on the 3rd of December. The Evening was lead by FA Tesco Skills Team Leader in Suffolk Jamie Godbold. The Topic of the Event was “The Age Appropriate Coaching Pathway”

Over 20 Coaches attended the Event, which contained both Theory and Practical Elements of the Age Appropriate Pathway and the Tesco Skills Programme. Coaches were given the opportunity of taking part in the Coaching Sessions and were able to ask questions on how to adapt the session to suit the needs of the child.

Many of the Coaches found the evening useful with a Coach Commenting “The session was great; I got some fantastic ideas to help me develop”

Spencer Thorpe, FA Skills Coach in the Bury area, will now further support the Clubs that attended the event with follow up sessions that will benefit the players and Coaches involved.

The first step of this Coaching Pathway is the FA Age Appropriate Introductory Module. This is a one day course which is due to take place in Bury on the 27th February 10am – 4pm.
