The FA’s New Approach goes down well amongst Charter Standard Coaches

12:04 PM, Thursday, 16 April 09. Development

Coaches from Charter Standard Clubs saw the benefits of the accreditation at the In Service Training Event which took place in Haverhill on Monday 30th March.

These events are organised throughout the season and are free to all Charter Standard Clubs. Suffolk FA are committed to organising these events to support the development of their Charter Standard Clubs.

The topic for the Event was “The New Approach to Coaching”. Peter Trevivian, Regional Coach Development Manager for the East, structured a session that was different to what would normally be seen on the FA Level 1 or Level 2 courses. The session was structured to promote the New FA Youth Award Qualifications that are now available.

38 coaches attended the evening from 14 different Charter Standard Clubs. These coaches now have an opportunity to go back to their Club and pass on their knowledge to other coaches and volunteers in the Club.

The next FA Youth Award Course is the FA Age Appropriate Introductory Course.

This is a one day course which is due to take place in Haverhill on the 25th April. The course is aimed at coaches working with youth players and is the first of the new generation of courses using a player centred approach that gives coaches the tools to deliver football training and meet the learning needs of all players. This is the first step on the new age appropriate coaching pathway that leads to a UEFA B licence in coaching youth players.
