Martin along with colleagues, Darren Cann, Simon Beck and Paul Taylor officiated the Coca Cola Championship fixture between Ipswich Town and Nottingham Forest.
The young Referees met Martin and his team before the game, listening to the pre-match instructions and safety briefing, before being present at the teamsheet exchange with representatives from both clubs. When the Match Officials went for their warm-up the young Referees took up their seats for the game.
At the end of the game, the young Referees went with PGMO Assessor, Kelvin Morton and listened to the de-brief he provided to the Match Officials. At the end of the de-brief the young Referees had the opportunity to provide their own feedback, ask questions and discuss incidents from the game.
All three Referees enjoyed the evening and learnt a great deal that they can take away and use to develop their own refereeing skills.
New Basic Referees Course dates have been announced around the County throughout the summer, including weekend “intensive” courses in Sudbury, Stowmarket and Lowestoft. So if you want become a referee and be part of the Academy book online now.
