Last season, Suffolk FA began the journey to the Final at Greshams Sports Club in Ipswich to watch the only first round tie, Willis FC vs Bramford United FC. The winners, Willis, became our featured team after a hard-fought 2-1 win.
In Round Two, Willis hosted Ipswich-based Achilles FC but in a thrilling encounter they were defeated 4-2 after extra-time. Therefore Achilles became our featured team and just so happened to march on all the way to the Final at Portman Road with Suffolk FA in attendance at each of their matches.
The Final was a cracker: Achilles were up against SIL Division One Champions Old Newton United FC in front of a crowd of well over 500 people who were treated to a feast of goals and entertainment! Achilles ran out 5-2 winners, again after extra-time, and lifted the Junior Cup in front of their fans at Suffolk's Premier Football Stadium.
Throughout last season, Suffolk FA's 'On the Junior Cup trail' feature received coverage in both the East Anglian Daily Times & the Evening Star newspapers and the Green’Un website.
