Trevor Brooking and his team at The FA aim to use football to promote long term healthy, active lifestyles, by encouraging children to play football to the best of their ability - ultimately with the goal of improving the standard of the game across the country.
The FA, with help from Tesco, will do this by providing one million young people with the chance to attend free skills sessions*.
66 full-time, professional coaches have undertaken a specialist age appropriate coaching course designed to make them world leading experts in improving the football skills of 5-11 year olds.
The Skills programme aims to help children develop better agility, balance and coordination, making them better at all sports! Coaching activities will help improve children's ability to work as part of a team, solve problems and make decisions whilst building confidence towards physical activity. It will make them better footballers too!!
The Skills Coaches working in Suffolk now have a full programme of events scheduled, this together with a booking form which can be printed off can be found on the related documents section on the right-hand side of this page.
For further details on the programme, please visit www.TheFA.com/Skills or alternatively contact Team Leader Jamie Godbold via email at jamie.godbold@thefa.com.
* A nominal contribution fee of approx £1 may be charged per session to cover the cost of hiring a football activity
